The night after Simon’s session, Adrian found himself unable to sleep. His mind replayed their conversation over and over, dissecting every word, every nuance. There was something about Simon—something more than just mental illness. It was as if he knew things he shouldn’t. A faint noise broke Adrian’s thoughts. A whisper. He sat up in bed, his pulse quickening. The room was silent, yet the whisper had felt real, tangible. “Adrian…” His breath hitched. The voice was soft, almost affectionate. He turned on the bedside lamp, scanning the room. Nothing. Just his mind playing tricks on him. Or at least, that’s what he told himself. But deep down, he wasn’t sure anymore.
